G.S. Polishing is a specialist metal polishing business based in Rochester, Kent. Founded in 2001 by Gavin Sowter, I’ve been a full time metal polisher in the industry since 1994.
I specialise in the polishing and restoration of motorcycle and car parts from vintage to custom, to show standards. Many other types of polishing and restoration work are also undertaken for example - antique items, ornamental items as well as new custom manufactured parts made from non ferrous metals.
I take great pride in my work and started the business through word of mouth alone. Repeat customers are highly valued as I have always believed in producing the highest quality of work possible.
At G.S. Polishing I polish all types of metals to a mirror or satin finish.

I also offer other services that go hand in hand with restoration metal polishing such as:
Paint stripping.
De-anodising (the chemical stripping/dissolving of anodised coatings on aluminium items).
Grit blasting & bead blasting.
Repair work is also undertaken such as dent removal where possible.
TIG welding repairs
MMA (stick welding) - mostly used for cast iron repair welding with nickel electrodes.
MIG welding (used only for steel repairs)
Silver soldering – used for the repair of brass, copper, bronze and sometimes to repair thin stainless steel where welding is not appropriate.
