Shed Centre in Marks Tey, Colchester

Spent £865 on a kids play house from here. The assmebly of it was done by their young lads which their work was not good. The base was put down on our level decking off centre, roof was fixed off centre, Cracked panels, nails poking through, sap & roof felt dripping everywhere, our poor boy got his hands covered in black roof felt & sap which had dripped all over the banister. We had to get them back to correct the mistakes which they did do most of a week later, though the roof that has been fixed all off centre they told me it was supposed to be like that ??? Strange because the one in there showroom doesnt look like that. I think they just fobbed us off. I will take some photos and add a link abit later on. We also purchased as an extra fish scale tiles, which they sold us 4 packs of and only actually needed just over 2 packs.

When the lads who fitted the playhouse had finished the job one of them actually picked up the remainning tiles and walked off with them, guessing he was going to keep them for himself when his workmate piped up and said you need to leave those here! We tried to take the left over tiles back for a refund and was pretty much amazed to be spoken to like an absolute idiot by the young ginger haired boy there with glasses. Asking us if the item had been used which was still sealed? he was VERY rude to us and said we would have to come back later next week when the manager was in as he was the only one that can process refunds. 3 people were working in there that day and not one of them could do a simple refund? (though I am sure the older guy that was there was the manager as he has been there everytime we have visited) It wasnt just that we didnt get the refund it was the way they spoke to us. Even the older man (possibly the manager) there piped up and said "We do not have to take anything back" which just sort of tells you they dont like you taking items back for refunds and are just being difficult.
We were told the manager would call us but not hearing anything I called them up and asked to speak to ther manager, and only to get a mouthful off him as well saying he had heard all about this. He told me that they do not give refunds and we could have a credit note which is no use to me.

Pretty poor attitude from this company all round and especially when they over sold us the tiles in the first place which were not all needed. They were all nice as pie to us when we spent £800 with them !! This place is run by kids with no management or customer service skills what so ever. I will not use them ever again and will share this review on facebook so everyone else can see what a poor stinking attitude these people have. Once they have your money you will not get a refund back for anything what so ever, even if they have over sold you a product which wasnt then needed! BAD Business.

I visited The Shed Centre in Marks Tey early morning on 7/2/14 to enquire about purchasing an ex-display shed. Of the two male staff present, neither greeted me when I entered the sales office, one just staring, the other walking away into a back room, without any acknowledgement. When asking about the condition of the used shed, the man stalked back towards me - the potential customer - and his younger colleague at the computer (who was courteous enough) to rudely remonstrate with me. Neither man seemed to understand my query that I merely wanted to know what, if any, damage existed before deciding whether to buy an ex-display shed or a new one. He would not accept that, as several photos had been published on their website, it would help if imperfections and any damage were stated - as is the case on Ebay - so customers can decide what repairs they need to make and weigh this up against paying more for a perfect new one. He would not hear of this and rudely told me to either go to Southend to look at the shed or buy a new one, then adding he did not want to sell me one anyway!

I had an Italian guest with me who was appalled at the rudeness and unhelpful manner of the man in question, stating that it was an extraordinary way to operate and did he not want any customers!
