We have used Tyremart for the past seven years for servicing, tyres and MOTs for both our cars. Up until recently we would have had nothing but good things to say regarding the service we received the staff were helpful and friendly and we were always made to feel valued as customers, Now however all that seems to have changed. My wife took her car in for an MOT last summer, she left contact details and requested she be informed should the car requie any work.
The car failed the MOT, and after trying once to contact my wife Tyremart took it upon themselves to replace the front discs and pads resulting in a bill for over £200.00 .
When my wife arrived to collect her car she was greeted with a rather hefty unexpected Bill for work she wasn't consulted about or authorised. When she queried why Tyremart hadn't tried more than once to contact her to gain the go ahead she was given the excuse that they (Tyremart) couldn't let the car go out with the brakes the way they were, and also it was the only way to free up the ramp.
After I visited Tyremart in person and had a "frank exchange of views" we received a refund of the labour charges £110.00. Not having learned our lesson I took my car in today for an MOT and service, booking over the Internet a time slot from 08.00 until 12.30.
When I arrived I was told that there was no record of any booking ( payment had been made at time of booking ) and that I must of made a mistake.upon checking again the man found my booking and without any word of apology wrote on the job card " interim service" when I pointed out it should be service and MOT I received the same condescending attitude that I had made a mistake, until he checked again and found the MOT bit.
Anyway, come 4pm and having received no word from Tyremart I drove to the workshop and enquires as to weather my car was ready for collection only to be told it was still awaiting its service. To say I was a little confused would be an understatement, surely it doesnt take Eight hours to service and MOT a vehicle?
After asking why it wasn't ready I was told I had booked it in a slot from 12.30 until 16.00 so I showed the confirmation email showing quite clearly the time booked for 08.00-12.30 , again no apology was forthcoming just a condescending attitude. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of using Tyremart to look elsewhere.
