Yesterday I called for an ambulance as my husband had collapsed in the bathroom, the crew arrived very quickly and dealt with the situation under very difficult circumstances and was then taken to a very busy A&E at the Luton & Dunstable hospital where he was assessed and made comfortable very quickly. With all the fuss about poor NHS services all I can say to our ambulance service (Mandy & her driver): Madny thanks, L&D A&E doctors, nurses and staff well done for a top notch service and care of my husband and myself. On Monday 10th June I suffered a heart attack while in the departure lounge of Luton Airport.
I was first Assessed by Penny, the paramedic. She then arranged for me to be transferred to Luton & Dunstable Hospital. I was taken there by ambulance and then sent to Harefield, again by ambulance.
I would like to thank Penny and both ambulance crews for the superb treatment I received. All five paramedics were reassuring, competent and charming. I could not have asked for better treatment. Sadly I cannot remember the names of the ambulance crews.
I am writing with regard to and on behalf of my elderly next door neighbour in Linslade. He was taken to L&D last Tuesday, following an accident at home and was discharged the following day. He was brought home by Paul Griffiths and Dave Young of Dunstable PTS, BHP261. It was obvious that my neighbour was not in any fit state to be brought home. Paul and Dave were very concerned when they realised that my neighbour could not even reach his bathroom unaided and they remained with him for almost three hours, and made numerous enquiries and phone calls in order to be allowed to take him back to hospital. This even though their shift was over around two hours earlier. They moved heaven and earth and eventually they had clearance to take him back to L&D, where he remains, pending I imagine plans for his future care. I have passed feedback on to the NHS and also taken an online survey, but I would also like to show in this review how gratetful both Harry and I are for the care shown by these two lovely guys.
