I want to make an appointment to make a face-to-face meeting with a member of Barclays staff at the Urmston Branch. I have found it impossible to find a telephone number that allows me to contact the Urmston Branch directly.
What I have to do is to phone a central number, which then asks me for my debit card number and then digits from my Telephone Banking Passcode. Once these steps have been completed, I then have to listen to a range of alternatives - the last of which is the opportunity to speak to a person!!!
When I then get through to an individual, I make my request to ask for a time for an appointment to meet somebody at the Urmston bank. I am then told the slots for Friday (14/11/2014) of this week are all full. I request a slot for Monday (17/11/2014) of next week. I am then told that the meeting schedule for next Monday will not be available until Friday, 14/11/2014 and that I should ring back then.
At all parts of my conversation I am treated with civility and patience.
However, all I want to do is to speak to the Urmston Branch directly.
Please tell me why the process is so clumsy.
