After booking a holiday in March 14 at Thomson Holidays Formby to Australia, the management informed me in November 14 that my name on my passport is spelt differently to that on my ticket. I had told her months ago that this was the case and in my extensive travels I'm only too aware of the problems it can cause.
The Manager, Rachel told that there was nothing she could do but re-issue the ticket and charge £600 for doing so.
After an argument on the phone I was told if I came to the shop, the Police would be called, my wife went to the shop and paid the extra money and she was also banned from coming back to the shop and the manager, Rachel would call the police if we attempted to contact her again.
Such unprofessional behaviour leaves me completely stunned. Her superior is now investigating and will report back.
I have emailed the MD of Thomson but as yet, I've had no reply. Next step is to write to the Ombudsman and our MP.
Don't use Thomsons.
