Humber Fascias Ltd in Paull, Hull

The full story is that they installed some new fascias & soffits etc 8 years ago and issued their own 10 year guarantee on completion. What was supposed to be a day's work actually turned out to be a day and a half as they had not brought sufficient fascia board with them to complete the job. Humber Fascias left part of the roofline exposed to the elements overnight although they assured me this was ok!?!?. Within a week we had to call them back as a piece of fascia trim had fallen from the roofline and also the roof tiles had not been re-aligned back into position correctly. Everything then seemed ok although we were experiencing an ever increasing problem with birds each year (mainly starlings) getting behind the fascias and into the roof space/loft. Having had no response from Humber Fascias (ie to take a look at this problem under their guarantee) after numerous texts (to Steve, the boss man) and letters which they just ignored, I got so fed up of waiting and decided to get a another company in. It did cost me almost £400 to put right - but it was well worth it. Here's what they found.....
A piece of fascia board had been cut too short (about 2 inches) at an 'hidden internal corner' meaning that birds could get in and out freely. More alarmingly - and this is the best bit, the 'bird combing' had not even been re-installed to the whole of the rear elevation, meaning birds were coming and going as they pleased and also, only half the 'bird combing' had been re-installed to the front elevation – and that had been put in the wrong way, meaning birds could still enter freely but would find it very difficult to get back out again. The amount of nesting material removed was amazing.
At least I'm now satisfied that the work has now done and to a thoroughly professional standard, unlike Humber Fascias' work. The new guys talked us through every little detail, even producing photos before, during and after the work was completed.

Previous post...Really poor! I could write a short novel about this company's poor workmanship and after sales service but it would take up far too much space on here. In fact I'm not sure whether they actually know what they're doing. I recently had to fork out nearly £400 to have their work rectified by a more reputable company as Humber Fascias just ignored my numerous requests - even though it was still under guarantee. Also, beware of a company whose staff post positive reviews of their own company. What does that tell you? More to follow!!
