WS Rogers & Sons in Masham, Ripon

An excellent rural family butchers. Their Cornish pasties are the best I have tasted outside of Cornwall. I don't bother making sandwiches when I go fly fishing now, I just call in Rogers and buy a pasty, it lasts me all day. Their sausage rolls, pork pies and sausage are excellent. This is one of the few butchers where you can buy the old fashioned 'Gala Pie' (pork pie with the egg in the middle) which the butcher slices for you. Always courteous and friendly service - thoroughly recommended! I will actually buy some stewing beef and a joint here one day, but as I am traveling 100 miles each way, storing it cool is a problem.

I visited friends in Masham, we had Roger's pork pies for lunch, and I was hooked. I bought a steak and kidney, and a chicken and ham family size pie, and I can say delicious doesn't even cover it, and the pastry is the lightest I've ever tasted.
