David Martin has just completely overhauled a beloved but neglected piano which had been in store for many years. It was in very poor condition and I expected it to be deemed beyond repair, however David was reluctant to write it off, hopeful that after a drying out period it could be successfully tuned. His optimism paid off and he spent several hours patiently bringing my piano back to life, even polishing the pedals and keys, checking the woodwork, and making the castors work. He played various pieces of music to me, demonstrating my piano’s range. I am overjoyed with the result. In the process I learnt about my piano’s heritage and we discovered a delightful connection between my piano and David’s apprenticeship. He is a one off. A highly skilled craftsman with a huge passion and talent for his work, yet very unassuming and thoughtful. Don’t hesitate to entrust your piano to his care.
