A resolvable issue concerning overcharging for work not requested leads me to regretfully leave this 'avoid at all costs' review.
My elderly tractor mower (20yo, approx value: £100) needed a new starter and, according to Lawncare, a new printed circuit board. This was to cost £280. Expensive, but ok. In addition I asked for 'a simple service, just an oil and filter change, really'. This was interpreted as a £210 job, which I was not consulted about despite explicitly requesting that all work be approved by me prior to work commencing. When I questioned the unapproved work I was told to pay up or else the now mended mower would be returned to me unmended (eh?!). They then told me that 'people are always doing this to us' (presumably daring to question the bill). Well, it's the first time I've been exposed to such poor customer care, and I urge you to heed this critical review and to avoid this merchant.
