The Red Lion in Sutton, Newport

I drive past this every day on the A519 and have never thought of going in. However, on Wednesday, we wanted to eat close to home and thought we would pop in to check out the menu as my husband is a vegetarian so choice is normally limited.

We were pleasantly surprised and the choice for the whole party was varied. The food was divine and was the most ‘British’ experience that we have had in a very long time. A log fire, lovely ambience and clearly a very talented landlady make for an experience you cannot pass by.
I am very much looking forward to eating there again
