Avoid, I choose to do the MOT and service with New barn Garage (via Servicing stop) as I though naively that I would save money...of course I didn’t.
Everything started fine, they collected the car on time and called me back later on to tell me that my car did not pass the MOT (it was the first time it happened since I have got my car), for several reason, including the fact that one headlamp was broken. Effectively 2 days before the MOT the right dipped lamp broke. It is such a pain to change on this car that I wanted it to be replaced during the service. The final bill was significantly higher than originally planned (it is always the case when you do the MOT and service together... suddenly your car has a lot of issues... ”but don’t worry, you have the service just after, we will fix it”... oh yes, of course... I am sure it is absolutely not linked...). Well, my car came back in the evening (at work), when I took it back I immediately checked the headlamp... surprised, nothing changed. Very surprising as it was a MOT failure and should have been fixed during the service and the MOT was fine the second time. I contacted the garage (via servicing stop). Of course the garage assured they changed everything, the lamp must have blown up, I need to return the car to them and they will fix it... but I will need to pay for that. I refused to pay for something I already paid for. The garage tried to convince me that the mean beam was broken, and it is this one they changed. I know it is not true, I drive my car every day, morning and evening, by night, I know what beam was working and what was not. They just changed (or claim they did) the wrong lamp.
The worse thing is that it is a MOT failure, so they officially cheated. Especially if you consider that the MOT was fined the second time, even if the dipped beam was still not working. Clearly they are either completely incompetent (and fucked up massively, how can you change the wrong bulb?), or they did that on purpose so that I had to go back and pay again for the change. They charged me 51£ for the lamp, which I think is excessive... this also raised the question if all the other failures were real or if they were also imaginary. In total I had to pay 660£ instead of the originally planned 120£, and changed the lamp myself.
DO NOT USE SERVICING STOP, they do not assess correctly the garage they work with, and DO NOT GO to NEW BARN GARAGE, CHARLBURY.
