Sew It Seems in West Parley, Ferndown

I only came across the previous review after having some work carried out by Sew It Seams.
I used them because they are conveniently positioned near to where I work and more importantly, there's adequate free parking immediately outside the premises which helps as I'm not as mobile as I used to be.
I have absolutely no complaints in my dealings with Sew It Seams. I found the staff to be both pleasant and accommodating in dealing with my requirements. The finished item was faultless and the work fairly priced.
In discussions with the staff, it appears the business changed ownership mid 2014, so I think it would be unfair to judge them by any reviews prior to this date.

A very unpleasant experience with this sewing alterations shop recently. Took in a brand new expensive (Alexon) full length velvet evening dress for minor alteration (Shortening of hemline and two bust darts). On collection, the dress was very badly creased and there were eight scorch marks down the front of the dress in the shape of an inverted 'V' that could only have been made with an iron. Guess what was standing up in the front of the shop workroom, an ironing board with iron!
Very rude owner flatly denied responsibility, no explanation, no apology, no refund. Even had the temerity to say that the dress fabric was flawed. Photographed damage and emailed Alexon customer services who unsurprisingly responded that the damage had been caused by an iron.
I regret ever having set foot in this shop and would never recommend it to anyone.

First class work and service. Monika is extremely helpful and her work exemplary. I highly recommend.
