Rock & Fountain Inn in Aberdulais, Neath

Good value, quality old school pub restaurant, good portions and very reasonably priced drinks.

The place is full of Christmas decorations this time of year and with a real log fire and the whole place lit up like a Christmas tree inside and out the pub is very festive.

We went to the Rock & Fountain last Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised. The was very clean and welcoming, and the atmosphere is very cosy, homely and authentic.

The choice of food was excellent. I had a delicious vegetarian Sunday dinner, consisting of two nut roasts and a huge amount of vegetables. My husband had the steak pie, very full and flavorsome. Our kids had fish and chips, which they also really enjoyed. There were 2 versions of the fish an chips, a standard and an extra large. A word of warning: only go for the extra large if you are REALLY hungry!

I paid under £40 for 4 meals, so for the quality and quantity of food that one gets at this restaurant, prices are incredibly affordable.

The staff are a bit young, but still they were friendly, polite and professional.

We called in today after a day of shopping. The place is really warm and welcoming, and the staff were polite and friendly, however we were disappointed by the food. Our food arrived quickly, the presentation was not very good and pretty basic. Also, food was luke warm, my vegetables were over cooked and watery. My wife's curry was a bit tasteless. I used to love this place but I feel quality has gone down, and now there are better places around.

We decided to try this pub after passing many times and I was glad we did. Luckily I phoned in advance, as the place was packed. We loved the place, very cosy, with background music adding to the relaxed atmosphere. The choice of menu was huge and the food great, plus prices were very reasonable. Will be going back again soon. I recommend the Rock and Fountain restaurant.

Despite booking this pub at the last minute we received a fantastic welcome.
The staff was very helpful and the food outstanding. They even lit lit the candles and carried my birthday cake out. I recommend this place and will go back.
