Autoshine Alloy Wheel Clinic in St. Day, Redruth
Autoshine Alloy Wheel Clinic
Took my car in for full refurb of all 4 x alloys on my Porsche Boxster. Agreed to drop car in Mon and collect on Wed whilst work was carried out. Collected today to find out that 3 alloys looked fine but 4th alloy had "bubbling" effect under paint. Explained that I was happy with 3 of the wheels but the 4th wasn't up to standard (compared to previous set of alloys that I had refurbished before by a different alloy wheel refurb co in London) and was told by "Dave" that this was absolutely fine and was as good as could be expected. I explained to Jo on reception desk (who was very helpful and polite throughout the process) that I would be happy to pay extra if that alloy wheel needed more work but Dave was extremely rude and defensive and asked me why I didn't take the wheels to the other refurb co if they did such a good job?! Unbelievable...then he tried to suggest that as my car had been left for 2 nights that I had to pay extra for storage of the car! Never heard such nonsense. Kept moaning behind my back whilst I was trying to pay for the work. Jo offered not to charge me for the 4th wheel but I would have preferred for Dave to demonstrate some pride in his work and agree to refurb the 4th wheel to the same standard as the other 3! I explained to Jo that I would have been prepared to pay extra but Dave wasn't interested and continued to be rude and defensive. Dave - you need to learn that you cannot treat customers in this manner. It's not acceptable I'm afraid. Be prepared to take some ownership and accountability in your work and get it right instead of telling customers that they are wrong and to go elsewhere...really poor and unprofessional. Based on my personal experience today I would AVOID and go elsewhere.
I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect by both JO and her partner that own the business. I took my vehicle to the workshop to ask them if what I wanted was possible. I was told they would have to see if the wheels were buckled first and if they weren't then yes, it would be possible. On 8th July I booked my vehicle in for these checks to be carried out on the telephone with JO for my wheels to have the relevant check carried out on 14th August. It was a while away but I was willing to wait. On the 14th of August (5 weeks later) I called to let them know I was on my way only to be told that they didn't book me in and I could take my business elsewhere! When I wrote a review on their Facebook page to let other know that they may get let down on their appointment after waiting for a lengthy time. Autoshine replied in what they told me was a coherent manner and that I misspelled my words and and couldn't write anything that made sense. They also said i was messaging myself. They then went on to emply that my vehicle was unsafe! All of this is mocking and belittling. If there was a 0 stars button I would have clicked it. Avoid this company! I have never been spoked to with spite and nastyness.
Fantastic service in office and workshop. Had a refurb on all wheels on my z4 in the summer. Job done was first class. Unfortunately curbed one wheel after Christmas. Rung office, Jo booked it in for next day. Job done. As before first class workmanship and excellent customer relationship. Thank you all.
