The Flooring Studio in Bridge Of Allan, Stirling

I wish I hadn't bothered getting my floors done. I have had so much hassle. The staff at the flooring studio are very welcoming when you go in to the shop and they were very helpful at getting flooring to suit our needs and budget but communication has been terrible. I have had to email several times to get a reply on several occasions. We had our upper hall, stairs, down stairs hall and toilet floored. I was assured that the joiner would make it look excellent, instead I had skirting boards falling off the walls, those that were fixed on had a huge gap, a small gap was to be expected but this was ridiculous. The flooring on the upper hall was damaged, there were gaps beside some of the doors. Every join to the door ways were cracked as the joiner had put nails too close to the edge. One of the nosing of the stairs was also cracked. Three of four of the doors up the stairs scraped the floor as they had not been plained...it was just a mess. The flooring studio came out to inspect my complaints and agreed that this was not fitted to their standard. They order new flooring for the upper hall and sent out a different joiner a few weeks later to fix all of the bits that had been done wrong by the original joiner. They did an amazing job, it should have been done in the first place. They replaced the nosing on one stair, not the one that I had noticed was cracked so there is still one cracked. It looks like slightly different wood on the one they have replaced and it sits flush to the stair with no nail marks. It looks much better but completely different from the rest. I assume they should have been fitted like this in the first place so I contacted the flooring studio to have them all replaced to this standard. I was told that they were adequately fitted the first time. I am not happy with this job at all and feel that when I request that the nosing should all look the same that should be done. I also mentioned that one of the nosing was still cracked, the response was that the joiner was sure he had fixed the cracked one. I am just about to email them with pictures today, hopefully they will sort it then but I don't think it should have happened in the first place. The original joiner obviously wasn't up to the job and that's not my fault so the flooring studio should ensure that I am satisfied, which I am obviously not.
