We were in the area and decided to visit this fish and chips, we had very high expectations and I must say we were partially disappointed. Fish and chips here is good but not as exceptional as one would think given all the buzz... I've tried better chippies in my area. Staff are very friendly though.
I decided that I would let some of the buzz surrounding this place fade before trying it out, and I must say it deserves all of it! The place was pretty busy, but the staff were friendly and smiling. Their haddock was superb and the chips too, and portions were huge! I would definitely recommend dyke's fish and chip if you are in the area.
This Sydenham Terrace chippy got a lot of publicity after Tom Kerridge picked it as the place where he'd buy his last meal. They made the news and definitely deserve it! Their cod is absolutely delicious and always cooked to perfections, and their chips are crisp. I am so lucky to live in the area eheheh..
