I have been a client of HealthCare International for 2 years. A little over 6 months ago I filled a claim for cataract surgery for a total expenses of a little over $5K and I still have not been able to get the money they owe me.
I have had over 25 email exchanges, skype sessions and very expensive international phone calls, all to no avail. I am an expat living in Panama, Central America so this is the only health insurance my husband and I have. They have been using every dirty trick they as excuses for not paying what is our legally due to us. First, they started by saying "we are missing x, y, z but when we give it to them they then ask for A and B. Then after giving A and B, they said we are still missing P. After 5 months of this merry-go-round, they finally sent us an email confirming they owed $US1390 and they were going to do a bank transfer. The transfer was never done. And when we continued to email them and press for answers, I was told they were waiting for the claim to be 'released'. As of today, Oct. 21 (over 6 months later) we still have not received the money they owe us and they are now no longer answering our emails and they are doing this after had admitted it was their error and that 'measures' had been put into place to avoid such delays in the future. Bottom line, they still have not paid and it is now almost 7 months that I've been waiting.
