Stayed here as a treat from my parents for my wife's upcoming birthday. Treat it was not. Place looked nothing like it did on the website and i mean nothing. Place was over grown, kitchen was absolutely filthy to the point of a health risk. No electrical testing ever been done and the fire extinguishers last tested 16 years ago. Guessing guest safety isn't high on the owners list of priorities. On to the red phone box shower (IN BAINTREE) full of cracks, mould and the previous guests pubic hairs. We left after 3 days and after speaking to the owner and receiving an email telling us of how he had been out all day sourcing new equipment to restore this unit to something deserving of a holiday let, he then decides not to acknowledge us for any kind of solution to our ruined holiday. We are now in the process of legal action with the owners.. Check out my review and actual footage from the place you will get to stay in rather than the fantasy shown on the website. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZBpV70V0Wg.
We stayed at the Wagons in Enthorpe in June this year in place of a Christmas booking that collapsed miserably when the boiler failed (a cup had been placed under the boiler by the owner to catch the leak!) . The four of us looked forward to staying in the largest unit down the end of the yard but were disappointed by the filthy state of the surrounding area. Virtually the whole area round the carriage unit was covered in goose muck, even the parking area. There was no seating or table outside. The whole of the left hand side of the unit was overgrown with weeds and bushes up past the windows which made it rather dark and dismal inside and if you had a window open the leaves and bugs came in!
If you really love horses then you might put up with the cloud of midges that arive in the evening to buzz around the open stables adjacent to the carriage.
We had stayed before in a different unit at the other end which was good but were very disappointed at the state of the one at the end.
Will we go again? No!
