Description:
Helping to promote responsible dog ownership with Colchester Council since 2012. Helping owners to understand how their dogs think and feel because this dictates the behaviour. Many unwanted behaviours start with a dog asking a question, "do you want me to alert you to potential threats" but they can verbally ask this question so they have to show it and quite often this question is seen as unwanted behaviour.
Although how the owner interacts with this question will dictate the behaviour from then on, many may stroke in the hope of consoling but you will never see a dog stroke another dog. Or they may start to shout at their dog (not recommended) in the hope of stopping the barking, and this often causes a dog to believe that their owners are barking to so the threat must be serious. Finding the cause of the behaviour is our priority which is why we offer an initial free assessment (travel costs apply) and advice on the best reward based training methods to help reduce the concerns that cause the behaviour.
All services related to unwanted dog behaviour and the best reward based training methods are available including; puppy training, lead training, clicker training, one to one and so on. We also available for expert witness assessment, classroom, seminars.
We are returning advisors on BBC Essex radio, advisors to various TV production companies including ITV (The Only Way is Essex) and SKY (Dogs Might Fly), published in both local and national press, advisors to various rescue centres around the world (via social media), advisors to local authorities including; Schools, Council projects, Police and of course helping owners understand their dogs behaviour, language, psychology and training.
