Edzell Property Management in Glasgow
Edzell Property Management
I have been asked to write a review of my time as an Edzell tenant. When I first moved into my flat I was surprised at how simple and quick the process was. Laura, who did everything, was very clear and friendly and explained the details in the lease to me.
I had no doubt as to what I had to pay and what was expected from me. There were no tenancy fees which surprised me as I had previously been in England and had to pay about £900 in fees to my agent at the time. Laura explained that fees are illegal in Scotland and no agent should be charging tenants to rent a flat.
The flat was clean and freshly painted although the furniture was clearly second hand. The beds were not great so I asked for them to be changed. Edzell took about 2 weeks to make this happen but they said that they needed approval from the landlord first. After that we had no problems and we moved out 1 year later.
We left the flat clean and were expecting our deposit to be returned to us straight away, forgetting about our deposit had been sent to some other company for safe-keeping. We had no issues with Edzell and our deposit was returned 21 days later. This was a real pain as we needed the money but I understand that Edzell could do nothing more to help us.
I would recommend Edzell as a company as they were nice and friendly.
I rented a flat from Edzell and had nothing but problems with them including repeated phone calls to chase them to do major and minor repairs. I ended up doing repairs myself including fixing the washing machine, replacing taps that didn't work properly, window locks that were so old and unmaintained that the Windows didn't close properly. My bathroom ceiling dripped and the plaster hung down for literally months before they finally started work on it. That repair itself took them weeks to do once it was started. Generally, renting a furnished flat from them meant having to live with ancient, delapidated mattresses, carpets and sofas that were falling apart. Edzell claimed that the landlord wasn't willing to pay for replacements, so I ended up replacing essentials myself.
