Simmonds Roofing in Hullbridge, Hockley

Paid Mr Simmonds a lot of money for a problem with my flat roof which he repeatedly failed to sort out. He replaced a couple of roof tiles and did (badly) a small amount of repointing, none of which was anywhere near the problem area. I have since had to pay another roofer to undertake the work and am still trying to recover my money from Mr Simmonds.

Have now (12 July) initiated action through Small Claims Court against Simmons. Interestingly, neither Simmons Roofing Company or Hullbridge Roofing can be found on the Companies House database, suggesting that neither are registered.

This has and continues to cause me a huge amount of grief, so please take my negative experience as a warning not to do business with this company - I've given one star but they don't even merit that to be honest.

Now called Hullbridge Roofing due to building up a tragic and horrific name for themselves. Where to start. Con men would be an understatement. Unfortunately it is only after I have had simmons 'work' on my house that I've realised that my roof still leaks, ill never see my money again, I have to go through the aggravation of arranging another firm to repair the horrific work. On gathering quotes from other reputable companies it has become apparent that it's well known in this area that Simmons are unqualified, uneducated, thieving half arsed con men cowboys. Mr Simmons may seem a sweet old man when hes giving you a quote but it's his backwards son and his slap dash mates that attempt to do the work. You will pay twice! AVOID!!! Please be aware that this 'company' is now trading as Hullbridge Roofing from the same address 72 Lower Road Hullbridge Essex SS5 6DD. New name, same cowboys!
