Country Ways Oak in Staplecross, Robertsbridge
Country Ways Oak
Mixed feelings but overall not impressed ! My Review of Country Ways Oak.
The quality of the build of their pine LongLow Boy is superb.
But that is where the good bits end, and they are being rather difficult and requesting more money to put things right. On their site they have an item called a LongLow Boy for sale. This is priced at £350. There is a pine version of this item on display along with a selection of painted items, with an image of each option. I requested the "Pine" option with one alteration, that the cabinet should be placed on the left, as viewed from the front. When my piece of furniture arrived it looked nothing like the item in the image on their website. The proportion of drawer to cabinet was wrong, the door frames on the cabinet are 'Chunkier' and there does not appear to have been any attempt to match the grain. The waxing is very odd with 3 distinct colours/shades being visible ??? I can't help thinking that whoever built this LongLow Boy started off thinking that it was going to be painted. This is because the Top surface of this item has been expertly matched in terms of grain and even colouring, even though it is composed of multiple strips of pine. The same care has not been applied to the rest of this LongLow Boy. Why not ?
Country Ways Oak are telling me that the display image on their site showing the Pine LongLow Boy @ £350 is not the one that I paid for ???
So which version of the LongLow boy did they think I was paying for ? And where is it displayed on their site ?
There is nothing, NOTHING on the Country Ways Oak site, to suggest that the Pine LongLow Boy displayed on their site next to the £350 price tag, is NOT the item being sold for £350 !!!!
