I also have not had a good experience at Nu-Vet. I had 2 dogs one on constant medication which seemed to go up in price every time I asked for a prescription at one point £20.00 in one go, my other dog collapsed and I rang to ask for a home visit as he was very heavy to carry, I was asked if it had to be that day as they were short staffed.
We had just paid £1800.00 for Max to have some teeth removed they had no problem taking the money at any time.
I felt we had no choice other than to call Byre vets they came out within the hour, and could not have been kinder to us all.
I feel very strongly about the situation at your practice. I joined to your practice because I could see the love and passion for your work and felt you were fantastic. I also had confidence you would do all you could for the animals in your care. This wasn’t the case 24/4/15. I had an emergency with my lhasa apso Ziggie. She had injured her eye and I rushed her to your practice and got seen by a nice gentleman who I can’t remember the name of. He tried to help but was finding it hard to explain to us and to specialists as his English wasn’t the best. He called in Nico who I have met on a previous visit I was given 2 options go to this one specialist and pay £3000+ or leave her with them and they will charge me £300 for the first night and costs could go up to £1100 if they had to remove the eye. They didn’t seem to know much on what to do in the situation and was trying to get me to sign a form to take a loan for the money which I refused to sign without my husband in the room. Nico also seems to have a lack of passion for the animals and is much more about the money which I also experienced last time I saw him. Nico was very unprofessional as he told me that I shouldn’t take her to Hampton vet as she wouldn’t get better treatment there. It was all very scaremongering and I pity anyone coming in with a similar situation as my family member was in the table in pain and needing help. I took her to Hampton as I felt very uneasy with the situation at your practice. At Hampton I was comforted with options and medication and time to see what is possible. Not just sheer panic. i wrote to the owner and got no correspondence so i feel i have to share my experience.
