I counsel a broad range of mental health issues and have a special interest in Trauma Counselling with Adults who have experienced Childhood Sexual Abuse, Childhood Trauma, Rape and common/violent Assault. Other clients have issues with traumatic accidents, childhood neglect, long term illnesses, unexpected operations, traumatic hospital experiences, previous school experiences such as bullying or current issues within the work place, managing difficult personal relationships and problems with members of their family.
I work with both male/female clients, including family members who have also been affected indirectly and struggle with the aftermath of a trauma. In addition, I offer counselling to clients who have also experienced either physical, verbal or psychological abuse (including dissociation) and distress in their lives from violence or crime; a controlled relationship; as a partner or family member.
Each person is different, no two people are the same and not everyone is not going to feel the same way.
Everyone is a survivor of their own experience.
Client confidentiality is important to me working in this field and I understand how bringing these issues to counselling could be difficult for you. One of my philosophies is that change is always possible, and you do not need to come to therapy to just focus only on the abuse or trauma, you can bring anything and everything that effects you.
