Hanlons in Downpatrick
Hanlons
I will say that Hanlons are a reasonably priced store. They sell fresh fruit and veg, cheeses, baked goods etc. And these goods are of good quality.
The sandwich bar, however, is not all its cracked up to be. The chicken they use tastes cheap and watery, which leads me to believe it has been cooked, frozen, then defrosted. As for the other sandwich fillings you can get, they are just your bog standard ingredients that you would find in any half decent sandwich bar. I truly believe that the only reason Hanlons are known for their sandwiches is because they have been doing them for years. Hanlons is the only place on Market Street that has a takeaway sandwich bar, so people don't even have the choice to go somewhere else.
As for the staff... if you read a review saying the staff are kind and pleasant, take it with a pinch of salt. Every time I have been in Hanlons, the staff have always seemed rude and uninterested.
