Hayaam Bellydance Academy. It's all about hypocrisy. Once you get inside you don't realize at the beginning all her encouraging words on the website are not true. That's what she poses it to be, but after 3 years and being her student, and during this time she was also rude to me at times, even when I was helping her with event (?!).
I can tell I know the true story. It's a business. She is supportive to couple of students only who are doing well and asks them to write review for her when faced with negative reviews. She is not interested to teach everybody in class. It is out of her capability. I was going to get to be her employee and teach but cutting it short I had lucky escape. I know I have ability to teach, she can not deny it. But work with her and for her name and do all the work? No, thanks.
She is not sincere with people, her students and dancing community. She uses her authority to make people to listen to her problems with other people, wasting time of lesson for it. Sometimes we had to look at her unhappy face and grumpy mood. Otherwise it will be going on and on. I tried to talk this matter with her about her raising her voice at me (I am 35 years old by the way), always in polite manner but she is the one who always right and points at the door. Her behavior in class is divisive and totally unprofessional. How about her words that nobody will teach you better than her? Her methods pushing student to strive for better is fear and ignorance.
If dance means well being and confidence for you and if you want to make it part of your life, avoid Hayaam Bellydance Academy. It's only a name, nothing else. It is not you who is incapable to learn, it is her who is incapable to teach. I hope I can find a talented teacher and wish it to others.
