SweatBox Soho in London
SweatBox Soho
Sweatbox used to be the pride of the London bathhouses. Sadly, now it needs a lot of work. The staff are unfriendly and some can hardly speak English.
You're not allowed:
- poppers (they are confiscated and they are also not sold on the property)
- gum (as someone that enjoys nicotine gum, this is a deal breaker)
Sweatbox in winter is too cold - you'll shiver in the corridors. In summer Sweatbox is way too hot.
The rooms are tiny and dirty. Cleaners are hard to find. The rooms get so hot, you slip and roll on the plastic covers from your own sweat. It's very uncomfortable.
Despite the various signs about not allowing drugs on the property, at least 40 percent of the guys are high on something. The easiest way to tell is they are rough and clumsy.
While not the management's fault, overtime I have been there I will have a stalker. Either a massively obese man, or passed the retirement age that will not take no for an answer and will follow me around all evening. These types ruin the experience as the everyone scatters to get away.
Some serious though needs to be given to the functionality of rooms. The sauna and steam rooms are hardly used as they are just too hot.
