Avenue Community Project in Middlesbrough
Description:
Avenue Methodist Church is a grade 2 listed building opened in 1908. Church membership declined and where once there were 300 regular worshipers this declined to a figure nearer 30. The members with a heavy heart took the decision to close the church and the final service was on Sunday 26th august 2012, but the building lives on. With the support of the Middlesbrough and Eston Methodist Circuit the church is now the home of Avenue Community Project. The church is now the home of the Redeemed Church of God and the Romanian Pentecostal Church who both worship on Sundays. Other Community activities take place each week (details on request).
