Description:
The original chiropractic adjustment approach is generally referred to as spinal manipulation, and may also be called the diversified technique or the high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) thrust. In addition to spinal, pelvic, and extremity joint manipulation, trigger point therapy, passive spinal mobilisation techniques, and soft tissue work is utilised at this practice.
On your Initial Visit a complete consultation and examination (reflexes, orthopaedic, and neurological tests) relevant to your condition will be conducted. You will then be given a written diagnosis and advice on exercises.
The most common question every patient asks, ‘How many treatments will I need?’ The most accurate answer is that a treatment course will vary for every patient depending on their symptoms/condition, medical history, age, life-style, fitness, exercise routine, occupation, habits, weight, family history, sports injuries, etc.
There are very few authoritative non-chiropractic references to what constitutes a reasonable number of treatments or course of treatment. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is a public body of the UK Department of Health. In the case of persistent lower back pain, NICE recommends chiropractic treatment should include up to nine sessions over 12 weeks. Please refer to: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/chiropractic/Pages/Whathappens.aspx
*Please note I am a Chiropractor. I am not a McTimoney Chiropractor.
*Please note I am not a Medical Doctor, I do not hold a medical degree and I am not registered with the General Medical Council. I am registered with the General Chiropractic Council. I graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa and my degree is called: Doctor of Chiropractic. I do not use medical procedures or treatments; I conduct chiropractic consultations, examinations and treatments.
