Simon has been involved in Jazz, improvised and recorded music for over 11 years and has played with many influential jazz musicians, including Randy Brecker, Jonny King, Pete King, Tim Garland, Alan Barnes, Jim Mullen and Norma Winstone. Simon has also recently appeared with pop singer Jane McDonald.
He appears regularly with some of the UK's top jazz musicians and as a bandleader in his own right. Simon is also an in-demand instructor for guitar and drum students and sees many of his students develop successful music careers themselves.
He won the Musician's Union Outstanding Musician Prize in 2003 and 2005, was a finalist in the 2001 Perrier Young Jazz Awards and has performed his own works on BBC Radio 2. He completed Post Graduate studies after graduating with a 1st class honours degree from Leeds College of Music.
