Goldsmiths in Farnham

I took my eternity ring in to have an estimate done for repair. I had to pay £25 for this estimate. I simply wanted the shank replacing. The estimate came back and I was told that the ring would have to be completely rebuilt and would cost over £2,000. As I could not afford this ridiculous amount I took the ring back. I then took it into another reputable jeweller in Farnham who said that it certainly did not need rebuilding and that it could be repaired for £300. I am appalled by this. I wrote to Goldsmiths to simply ask for my £25 to be refunded and was sent a rather rude mail back saying that they would not refund me. I have since heard that several other people I know have had the same experience. I will never use this jewellers again.
