A.B.S Batteries in Guildford

Bought this battery earlier and had fitted. 577 400 078 Varta Silver Dynamic (E44, 096)
Cost me over £111.00. Feel a tad disappointed as battery can be purchased on Ebay with free delivery for £70.95 or tanyabatteries for £70.00 delivered.
Just seems a bit of a mark up for 10 minutes work fitting it, around £40.00. Still was urgently needed and comes with manufacturer's 5 year warranty. I suppose the answer is fit it yourself or pay half the price of the battery to get fitted.
Makes you wonder how much they are bought in for before being sold if other retailers are selling then much cheaper.
Fitter in shop wrongly informed me it was shops warranty and not manufacturer's, wasn't going to put canvas cover back on new battery until I asked and I was about to drive off before he realised he had forgot to put the car back together property in the way of leaving off a big black box which sits in between the battery and front grill and screws to just behind grill.
The wires were being put under unnecessary strain ass in his own words "You are meant to take the air filter box out".
I was concerned that the fuses and wiring that fit directly above the battery after being disturbed that the cover on box would not close properly and he said "If you want to sort it out yourself that's fine but that's all I'm doing".
I preferred this place when it was located in Markenfield Road and was more old school and you had more reassurance that the older guys new what they were doing and wouldn't take short cuts.
Seems these days it's all about making as much profit as possible quickly with minimal amount of effort.
