I've given one star across the board as prior to employment they stated I had to provide my own safety boots and hi viz jacket. This is illegal, but I ignored it, as I have safety boots anyway. They then told me I'd failed the "stage one security checks" and suggested I contact the police and make a "subject access request", (which costs a tenner) and told me no one had ever failed at that stage before. This is also illegal. Not only don't I have a criminal record, but I used to work for the government in roles with fairly strict security vetting. I don't know what their game is but I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them. Their illegal requests are, at best, indicative of a very lax attitude to employee rights and are prosecutable offences.
