Worst cake maker ever. Ordered a cake a while back and she spelt surprise wrong. Thought mistakes happen so gave her another chance and ordered daughters first communion cake and my mothers 70th for the same weekend. Had a very stressful week leading up to the weekend because she was to confirm prices and pick up times. I text and rang several times with no reply and had to go to bed on the Friday might before communion wondering if I'd get a cake or not. My brother lifted cake and when I seen it, I was shocked, it was a generic cake without my daughters name on it which I had ordered, the cake was morbid looking and really messy and smudged, I sent her message innocently asking did my brother collect the wrong one as daughters name was missing. Her response was 'nothing pleases you, no cake for your mothers birthday' which I was to collect next day. I asked her to send me a pic of my mums and she said 'NO CAKE'. I told her I needed it as I had no way of ordering another for the next day she said, no I will give your mothers cake to a charity or nursing home. I paid £50 for the worst cake I have ever seen and my mum had no cake for her special 70th birthday. This woman is unprofessional and rude, she said I should go back to my old cake maker. Shocking service from a woman who made lots of cakes for me including my wedding cake. Mistakes happen and all she had to do was apologise and deliver me the cake I ordered for my mum. I recommended her for years, i certainly will be ensuring I never do again. Her cakes up to about 2 years ago were amazing, I don't know whats happened but lately they are awful, my two most recent had mistakes, were messy and tacky. The £50 cake went in the bin, we tried it and it was dry and stale too so she must be freezing the sponge. Her response to me on the day of my daughters communion shocked me and ruined my day, then she refused to do my mothers 70th. Awful service.
