It took this excuse for a garage three attempts, over the space of several moths, to replace the cylinder head on my Toyota camper van, and now the engine smokes badly and burns oil. I was without my van for about eight weeks in total, causing me great inconvenience, and they charged me in excess of £1600 for a botched job. I am now awaiting expert opinion from a reputable diesel specialist, who tells me that the valve guide oil seals are leaking. I am now considering small claims court action to recoup my losses.
